Frequently Asked Questions
What should I bring for my cat's stay?
Bring their favourite bed or blanket, toys, and any special dietary food or treats — familiar scents and flavours help cats settle in quickly.
How are the cats housed?
Each cat gets a private, spacious room with bedding, a litter box, toys, and climbing features. Cats from the same household can share larger suites.
What food do you provide?
We provide Black Hawk, Royal Canin, and Taste of the Wild dry food, with fresh water always available. You're welcome to bring your own and we'll follow your cat's usual routine.
What are your vaccination requirements?
All cats must have up-to-date FVRCP vaccinations (Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis, Calicivirus, Panleukopenia). Proof is required before or at check-in.
How often will my cat be fed?
We follow your cat's usual schedule — typically twice a day — but this is flexible. Just let us know at check-in and we'll adjust as needed.
What happens if my cat needs medical attention?
We have agreements with local veterinary clinics. If your cat needs attention, we'll contact you immediately and only proceed with your permission. Please provide your vet's contact details at check-in.
How much time will my cat spend outside their suite?
Cats enjoy supervised playtime on a rotation, usually every second day — engaging without overwhelming cats who prefer their own space.
How do you handle cats with anxiety or special needs?
We use Feliway diffusers for nervous cats and offer private areas for extra one-on-one attention. Every team member is trained to maintain a calm, low-stress environment.
Can I check on my cat during their stay?
Yes — 24/7 camera access to your cat's room is available at any time, except during supervised playtime. We're also reachable by phone or email whenever you need peace of mind.
How do I make a reservation?
Book through our website, call 03 9112 7147, or email info@ohayopet.com.au. Booking ahead is strongly recommended during school holidays and peak travel periods.
